Philadelphia Youth Orchestra / Tune Up Philly
Founding Director

Tune Up Philly (TUP) was launched in September 2010 at St. Francis de Sales School in West Philadelphia. Inspired by the social development and music education program of Venezuela, El Sistema, TUP currently serves children in North Philadelphia. To follow their program, visit the PYO website.

Meru Music Project (MMP)
Program Director

Stanford designed one of the country's newest instrumental music programs. The first music program in Meru began was developed at the Bishop Imathiu Integrated Boarding School, Kithoka Primary School, Fred's Academy and the Bishop Lawi Imathiu Secondary School. The program is locally supported by the Thiiri Center for Culture, Music and Community Development in partnership with the Kenyan Urithi Education Fund.

Reading Summer Music Instiute (RSMI)
Artistic Director
In Cooperation with the GoggleWorks Center for the Arts and the
Community School of Music and the Arts

The Reading (PA) Summer Music Institute is a one week intensive course designed to challenge student musicians to another musical level. Through the Institute, students will be exposed to high-caliber clinicians, performances, and techniques that will give them an upper edge upon returning to their music programs for the upcoming school year.

Philadelphia All-City Brass Symposium
Artistic Director

The Philadelphia All-City Brass Symposium was created to expose music students in the Philadelphia School District to professional musicians and diverse musical experiences through interactive master classes and engaging rehearsals. Held annually at The Curtis Institute of Music, the program brings students from the School District of Philadelphia to work with students and faculty of Curtis in master classes, clinics, and rehearsals.

 

Atlanta Trumpet Festival
Founding Director of Operations

The Atlanta Trumpet Festival was established in 2004 and is in residence at Emory University. Each fall, the festival attracts over one hundred trumpeters of all ages from North America to meet the world's best trumpeters in clinics and participate in trumpet ensemble rehearsals. Clincians have included musicians from the Chicago and Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and the world's most prominant recording artist and jazz musicians.
